86 procedures

Postby wired » Wed May 30, 2012 4:04 pm

What's the best method to 86 someone who's clearly had too much?

Tonight a guy I know was at the regular spot and was really drunk. In his stupor he proceeded to bite my friend's face. Even though I'm not staff, I promptly grabbed the guy and ejected him from the bar. The staff seemed fairly ambivalent since the patron in question is a friend of many of them. Even after telling them what happened they didn't immediately eject the guy.

This bar is one of my regular spots. I don't want to quit going there, but need to know the best way to get my point across to a drunk that his pranks aren't funny.

I've been in your position and, much more often, I've been the guy who's had way too much. Don't think I've ever bitten anyone, though.

You probably did the right thing. I can never be angry at friends who have ejected me from parties for being drunk and obnoxious. In many ways, they probably saved me from a proper beating.

Beyond that, I've been in pubs where I've seen people - undrunk people - act that way, and I've thrown them out. Some people are just jerks, right?

BMMS considers that to be foreplay.

Anyone trying to bite somebody else's face just like this deserves whatever is going to happen to him next. The staff you mention seems pretty irresponsible to me.

I have natural knack for dealing with drunk/annoying people and the police. And occasionally para-medics. You have to use elobrate combination of lies, deceit and reasoning. Mostly the first two though.

Ahhh, "the accidental bouncer". There is no best way to do it, it's all very uncomfortable, sometimes a person has to go and you have to be the guy to do it, no real way around it when you're at a local where everyone's a regular, it happens.
