Can one of you more futbol-savvy Brits or Euro-folks explain what the call was on the disallowed U.S. goal late in the match with Slovenia? Was it offsides? A personal foul? What?

I'm not complaining about the call; I just want to know what it was.

Watching Nederlands/Japan right now and drinking vodka/fruit-juice.

In my opinion that goal should have been allowed. The only foul that I saw was the one Slovenian player bear hugging Bradley. Technically that should have resulted in a penalty kick for the US. Bottom-line: The US and England need to get their heads out of their asses and go out and win their last games so they can advance.

Ah, lads, I was watching the USA vs Slovenia game in the pub with an American friend of mine and that referee was awful. No idea why he disallowed the third goal.

England fans have predictably gone from their "we're gonna in it!" state to their "it's the worst England team ever" protestations. I knew there was a reason I always preferred United.

Still, Wednesday should be fun. All to play for. England may to in disaray but at least we're not as messed up as the French who have sent a player a player home for calling the manager a "son of a whore" and then refused to train today. The farmers will be blocking the Champs-Élysées with tractors next.

after that game against Ireland a little while ago, the French are learning that karma is a bitch.

Ah, Kaka's just been sent off for Brazil - absolute bullshit. No malice in that guy at all and a very harsh red.

Aye, Casino, a few Irish mates were supporting Mexico against France and maybe the karma for the Henry thing is coming back a bit...

No offense to El Boozy, but I am LOVING the French team's predicament. And it was great to see the New Zealand team play Italy to a draw today.

Isn't that a sport all it's own in France? I believe there's even a league; with a passenger-car division, a tractor division, a taxi-cab division, a delivery-van division, a big-rig division and an unlimited division for when the political shit REALLY hits the fan.

Yes, because no matter how dire things are in the England camp, we can still say 'at least we're not French'...

Even if the US loses tomorrow, I'm happy knowing the the French went home first. But I predict a 2-0 US win, with goals from Dempsey and Altidore.

Damn this is incredible television. Half time, USA tied at zero, England up 1-0. So stressful.

HAHA Albania got schooled! I know we'd kick their dirty third-world asses! And England advances so I'm still alive in my soccer pool.
