Why don't we do it in the road? Beatles song.

Postby Savage » Fri Feb 03, 2012 2:03 am

Seriously? This song got airplay back in the sixties, when women wore girdles and couldn't get served in restaurants if they were garbed in trousers? Clearly, I need a big old history lesson. Hell, my mom would ground me today, for blasting that song, and I am a grandma.

BTW, how sad is the song "When I'm Sixty-Four."? Only two of the Beatles made it to that august age.

I hate to be a music-nerd bastich, but that was a paul mccartney song off the white album, and john & george & ringo have been quoted as saying they wished the white album had been pruned down and been released shorter, maybe as 'the whiter album'. paul, on the other hand, said he loves the diversity of the white album and how that's what makes it the album that it is.
To which I say...I love The White Album. Heck, I love Jay-Zs The Black Album. I even love Danger Mouse's The Grey Album!
Saying The White Album should have been released as one disc is sort of like saying there never should've been a sequel to "The Empire Strikes Back".

This song is a case study of "more than the sum of its parts." A great song made out of next to nothing.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. I am old, and just figured out that it referenced LSD. Duuude! I was born too late for all that hippie shit.

I think you had to be there for the beatles... dunno, I was born in 87 and I don't get what the big deal was. It's kind of like Nirvana I guess to my generation. I knew it was a huge deal when I listened as a kid, but I can't listen to Nirvana now, it's like being in a shitty time capsule.

I like the beatles and I'm 20, it's not a matter of age. Saying that, I do like pretty much any music I listen to

last time I listened to the beatles i drank scotch until I blacked out, and then apparently went to a party I wasn't invited to, acted like a dick and stole a litre of vodka. I would dispute this, but there's a picture of me chugging from the bottle in a flat I don't recognise

Here's the horrible truth I didn't want to reveal about Screwball: he believes that justin Bieber is a reincarnation of all the Beatles at once and oftenly does things to himself humming "love me". Yep, I know, ugly.
