Jeweler's Screwdriver

Postby Two Martini Breakfast » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:04 pm

This came up in an IRC conversation with some of my friends. Someone mentioned the term "jeweler's screwdriver" and I thought that sounded like a great name for a drink. So, we reverse-engineered the drink from the name and came up with this:

1 part vodak
1 part campari
2 parts orange juice
1 part sparkling wine/champagne

Build in a tall glass over ice, stir once vodka, Campari and OJ have been added, pour into highball glass, add champagne.

Special note: this is a DELICIOUS drink! I had to try four or five while we were experimenting and this final concoction, as a palliative the next morning, was revolutionary.

Never used campari before. So its a bitters....must be highly diluted relative to angostura or peychauds?

This is a great recipe, I love screwdrivers. Not usually a fan of vodka or mixed drinks, but a solid screwdriver is awesome at all times of the day.
