Homesick.

Postby Mr Boozificator » Fri Jun 08, 2012 10:18 am

Yep, I am homesick from that home far away from home.
It's hard to explain and I want to kick meself in the face for not taking pictures or filming all this, but I am homesick from my last stay in the midwest:
-I miss the huge Thirstydrunk smile that welcomed me on arrival.
-I miss Thirsty's friends who accepted me immediately two years ago.
-I miss waking up like at home at Thirsty's place and grabbing a PBR out of the fridge in my pajama while Sam (good dog sam) is barking around and trying to make me stumble in the way only hyper boxers know.
-I miss the conversations in the Oldsmobile while we are driving/sailing to Illinois.
-I miss the stop at the geese house and improbable conversations about returning some dead animals to their first owner.
-I miss the arrival at the Roadhouse and everyone so happy to see us disgusting wastes of space like we are messiahs.
-I miss the delightful plentiful food and beer, and strange cocktails, and smiles and booze, and smiles again at the Roadhouse.
-I miss the dazzled waking up in the morning at Chip's house before we have a huge breakfast and head for Fort Kickass.
-I miss Cy, Logan and the entire family at Fort Kickass where no one, no one will ever get thirsty for more than ten seconds.
-I miss re-entering a bar after two years and the waitress actually remembering you and your giant friend were there before, way before you do.
-I even miss the bunch of incompetent idiots at the shake'n steak.
-I definitely miss the evening sitting in Thirsty's garden, with the Viking grilling half a cow on the barbecue while everyone is having drinks and laughing at the small differences between one continent and an other.
In a nutshell, I curse the ocean and miss my friends from the other side of the Atlantic.
I know some pictures were taken at various points in the magnificent drunken haze we've been living through those five days, so if anyone has the courage to post them, please do.
Thank you, you wild bunch of boozed up fools , you made my year.
See you next year, or anytime before if you get those fucking passports made and condescend to pay me a visit.
Cheers!

Hey, I forgot sublime moments in Dayton when we hit that strange library and the bar with the incredibly nice wooden decorating...
Well, you get the idea, so go cry in your room if you weren't there.

Best line of the stay and ever for ever. Especially said by Thirsty before ordering an other bucket of beer.
"Yeah, it will probably kill us, but what ya gonna do eh? Ha ha". Made me laugh all the way back to France.

Okay, I almost like this guy now. Except for him talking shit about my daughters. For that, he can burn in hell.
If he could act like a human being, then I might not wish him dead.

And I love you too Ma.
And that's ok if you only give me one daughter (but really, three would be better).

I have four, stupid. Two I birthed, and two stepdaughters. Also, one stepson. See, since I married an old fellow. And, by the way, old man, you have ZERO chance at any of the girls. (Or the boy, should you be so inclined.)

Four? what a delicious surprise. Dealing with the maintenance of my cellar will be all the more easy. It's incredible the number of heavy things that four young ladies can lift when they work all together.
I can't wait to have them here. Please send them ASAP and let them rest assured that i'll divide my time and affection between them in all fairness.

I am still telling that story. Incompetent idiots indeed. a half hour to get a burger and fries. And add up a couple of 5 dollar meals to $567. And they thought it was all funny.

to be able to be homesick for a place that isn't your home, that's a sign of good character.

to be able to be homesick for a place you've never even been, that's sublime.

Ignoring the stupid frog, I have to say that I am homesick for Okinawa. Lovely place. Good people. I miss them, and their home.
