I was at Con I. We had arrived on Thursday night I believe. I was not 21 yet, so I was unable to attend the actual events, however I was there for the hotel parties. The next morning at 7 am I get a knock on my hotel room door. It's DJF, Casino and Moriarty with a bottle of Beam Black. Tim was so trashed he was snorting and laughing on the floor. That was the best introduction I have ever had with anyone. Ever. He was a great guy. Everyone knows that though. Meg, I wish you all the best.

The first time I had Ten High was when I visited DJF and 190 in San Diego. We got there at like 3am, and that was the first drink I had upon arrival. It's delish. This is my first drink of hard liquor since I found out I was pregnant. TO TIM!

Wow, didn't expect a thread like this. Think I'm suddenly in shock too, and clearly I lose in general, having never met DJF and with only one DD between us. It was an early-ish DD on a low-key Saturday, or something like that, so I'm glad to remember more of it than a lot of other DDs.

Hugs, Meg. I'm drinking Ten High now, and this is raised in your direction...

Now that I see how DJF was such a Ten High afficionado, I wonder if he's not why that's my constant Bourbon. I like having some other stuff around, but I get kinda worried when I'm low on Ten High and lack the $15 for another handle. Ten High is a simple and perfect pleasure, the Bourbon for one and all, at any time. Much as DJF was the drunkard's drunk, and ... well Christ, still a shock.

Damn, I'll never know why he liked Ten High so much. Maybe it was the giant flask shaped bottle. Maybe he just drank what he wanted. I don't know.

Damn guys....

I was being so strong until you broke out the WWDJFD signs.

It's great to see so many of you swapping stories about him; he was such a great guy.

I was just thinking the other day of the 05 SD "invasion" drinking in the pool, the night louie choked the stripper, DJF driving me to the store in the AM to get smokes on his way to work, and me babbeling the whole way ..... 190 spilling her drink in my new truck, puking off the balcony .... good times ........ here are some pics from that unforgetable weekend.

I raise a glass of bourbon for him tonight

Megan, I don't get around here that much, but my phone number is still the same. I am so sad; I just saw this now. Best wishes to you. I had no idea about this.

Dusty shelves and good times. Brief moments. Lifelong memories.

Oh god I'm so sorry.

My heart to you.
